WHY YOU ARE STILL AN UPCOMING ARTISTE PART 1

#Dearartiste,  if you’ve been on this grind for more than 5 years, and you’re still an unknown upcoming act, you need to consider some things before you get frustrated and throw in the towel.
Before you blame Radio presenters, producers, or the whole world for your problems, you need to take a good look at yourself and do some house cleaning.  You need to find out exactly what ypu’re doing wrong.  Let me tell you some major problems upcoming acts have, and if you find out you’ve been doing any of these things, you need to adjust asap.
·         BEING DESPERATE FOR FAME AND MONEY:  it pains me when all an artiste thinks of is being famous. The truth is, you have to do what you do because you love and enjoy it. You will easily frustrate yourself and probably make all the wrong moves if what drives you is desire for fame and money. The bitter truth is as an unknown act; your music will not make money until you reach a certain level in the industry. Some of you get some little shows and an opportunity to show your talents and get more fans and all you can think of is that they will not pay you, and then you sit at home.
I pity you because you will remain there for a long time.  As an upcoming act, you should be quick to seize every opportunity offered for you to perform because you never know who you will meet at those events. When you place money before everything, you will come across as greedy and untrustworthy.
·         UNRELIABLITY:  it’s saddening how unstable and unreliable most artistes are. Some of you are in the habit of missing appointments and lying all over the place. You cannot be trusted. It’s particularly appalling when a radio presenter calls you for an interview and you indiscriminately miss the appointment. Some don’t even bother calling to apologize! That’s irresponsible behavior at its worst!  Some of you make promises you don’t keep and your word cannot be trusted. If you continue that way, you have already killed you career before it has even taken off. Learn to keep your word and have some integrity
·         WASTEFUL LIVING:  you will never move forward if you keep living beyond your means. By now if you haven’t realized that the entertainment world is an illusion and not reality, you really have a long way to go. Some of you will have only one semi-successful single and turn yourself to overnight celebrity. You want to live the life you see in music videos, so rather than saving up your meager resources to develop your career, you waste your time and money in clubs impressing people who don’t care about you and will move on to the next big spender as soon as you go broke.
The reason we see all these one-hit wonders all over the place, is the fact that after their one single hit, they delude themselves that they have arrived, stopped writing songs, stopped rehearsing and spent all their energy partying! Learn from their mistakes and don’t get carried away by whatever success you think you have achieved.
To be continued………………….
